We are pleased to announce that Verena Seufert is now a member of the advisory board of the Nutrition Council of the StadtRegionStuttgart e. V.The advisory board supports the Food Council in developing a comprehensive food strategy for the StadtRegionStuttgart. The aim is to actively drive forward the regional and ecological transformation of the food system. To this end, the first food strategy for the Stuttgart city-region is being developed this year.
The advisory board is made up of representatives from civil society, actors in the food system, science, administration, and politics. Together, they define goals and solutions to overcome structural hurdles and promote a sustainable food transition. Education, information, and exchange also play a central role in this.

Our research group is working closely with the Food Policy Council as part of the EU Horizon project FOSTER, and the new role on the Advisory Board is an opportunity to deepen this relationship.
In the upcoming committee meetings, the development of the food strategy will focus on the following key topics:
- Climate protection: developing strategies to reduce CO₂ emissions in the food system.
- Food Hub & Logistics: Optimization of food distribution and logistics.

- Production & marketing: Promotion of local and organic food production.
