Our work aims to apply sustainability science to the agri-food system, striving to contribute to the development of innovative solutions for a more sustainable future. Our department focuses on understanding and improving the ways in which we produce, distribute, and consume food in order to create a more just and sustainable agri-food system. We are interested not only in defining sustainability within the agri-food system but also in transforming the agri-food sector to be more sustainable. Our research strives to be actionable and relevant to society. We utilize innovative participatory, qualitative, and quantitative methods in our research, working across disciplines such as geography, land system sciences, sustainability sciences, agricultural sciences, ecology, and sociology.
